Contributions from HCRI alumni and friends have transformed lives and opened doors of opportunity for people who stutter. Ongoing support is essential for HCRI to continue delivering advanced stuttering therapy; developing innovative treatment solutions; and offering therapy scholarships to those in need.
Donations of all sizes are sought and may be made via check or credit card. Gifts of stock are also accepted. Individuals who give $1,000+ annually receive special recognition as Hollins Society members. Contributions may be designated to one of the following funds:
Inventing the Future Fund - Operating Fund

The Inventing the Future Campaign was launched four years ago to ensure HCRI stuttering therapy services, treatment innovations and research contributions will continue well into the future. This general operating fund is used to support therapy administration, hiring and training of additional clinicians, research initiatives, technological advancements, and operational needs.

HCRI Stuttering Therapy Scholarship Fund
HCRI’s Stuttering Therapy Scholarship Fund is designed to make stuttering treatment affordable to those in need… because people shouldn’t have to choose between paying their bills and getting help to speak fluently. The cost to participate in HCRI’s scientifically based therapy program is $4,500, which is priced to meet the Institute’s actual costs of research and therapy delivery. Scholarships range from $500 to full tuition, and are awarded according to each person’s individual circumstances.
Named Scholarships: HCRI supporters who pledge and make an annual scholarship gift of $10,000 or more for five years will have a scholarship named on their behalf (or in recognition of a friend or loved one). Those who give an endowed scholarship of $100,000 or more will also be honored with a perpetual named scholarship. The Rose Flaum Scholarship is one of Institute’s named scholarships, which has made therapy possible for many deserving people who stutter. HCRI alumnus Sander Flaum created the scholarship to honor his mother. Click here for Sander Flaum’s journey to fluency >>

Research and Technology Fund

HCRI has continued to stay on the leading edge of therapy delivery by conducting ongoing research and developing technologies that enhance fluency outcomes. For example, HCRI is currently creating a technology that precisely measures and tracks fluency target details in real time. This breakthrough capability will help therapy participants acquire and maintain speech targets with greater consistency and accuracy.
In addition, HCRI researchers are close to isolating the cause of stuttering that could lead to a cure. Contributions to the Research and Technology Fund will enable HCRI to continue work on these and other key initiatives that positively impact people’s lives today and in the future.

Buy-a-Brick Program – Paving the Way to Fluency
HCRI’s brick patio represents a place to show support for HCRI, help others who stutter, and leave a visible, permanent mark on the Institute with the purchase of an inscribed brick. Each brick can be imprinted with up to three lines of type for a name, message and/or tribute to someone you admire. Funds from the Buy-a-Brick program will be used for HCRI’s Inventing the Future – Operating Fund. A brick with one line of type is $250. A brick with two lines of type runs $375 and a three-line inscription is $500.

I tried other therapies and was told they “did the same thing as they do at HCRI.” I finally woke up and decided to try HCRI and found out that those other people didn’t know what they were talking about. What I have learned at HCRI has been a daily blessing in my life.”
